I’m Alive!

I survived the longest, tiring, and most challenging week of work I have all year. I worked straight through for 12 days and for many days in a row I worked 18+ hours. Definitely a rough way to start out the year after vacation! It also made sticking to all of my new goals impossible.

Just to recap, I met a hedgehog, ate some delicious steak, and was given the title the “Godfather” by my students. Yep, it was a strange one.

The good news is I didn’t gain any weight. I think most days sleep overpowered the urge to eat or do anything else. Definitely not a healthy way to live, but now it’s past me and I can refocus.

I was able to work from home today which felt amazing after the super long week I’ve had. I made a big cup of coffee, had some cheerios, and took Peanut on a nice long walk.

While I worked for a few hours, Peanut got to play with one of his new Christmas toys! We just subscribed to Barkbox. The toys and treats are all made in the U.S.A. and Peanut has liked everything he has received so far! This one above was a giant carrot that you can stuff with treats.

For lunch I had a smoothie with spinach, Greek yogurt, berries, and half a small banana. My diet can use all the nutrients it can get since I didn’t eat much, and not many healthy things this past week. For a snack I tried these Quest Protein Chips. Not a fan! I would rather just have real chips as a treat every once and a while.

My plan for the weekend is to get plenty of sleep, work out, and do some pampering!

My students got me a gift card to a really nice spa! I’m thinking I might book myself a massage this weekend as well to really feel rejuvenated! What do you all have planned?

  1. Sounds cool 🙂 I used to work at home two days a week but haven’t been able to do so for a while due to specific work commitments. It’s the best! 😀

  2. Great post, congrats on getting through some really tough weeks. Love the attitude of moving forward now and continuing to work on your goal despite a crazy start.
