Bikini Series Week Three Recap

image

Happy Monday!

Who is ready for a strong week ahead?!? I know I am going to try my hardest to make this my most successful week yet. I’ve printed off my workout schedule for the week, meal prepped and chopped veggies, and planned my meals for every.single.day.

Taking the guesswork out of meals has really helped me stay on track.

This weekend was filled with long walks enjoying the beautiful weather, and lots of relaxation. Now I’m ready to kick it back into gear! But first, a weekend recap…

On Saturday, Nick and I headed to Clyde Warren Park. This is a park in downtown/uptown Dallas. This weekend the park was hosting the Dallas Relay for Life. Relay For Life raises money for the American Cancer Society for research and support of those with cancer. This is an event that is near and dear to my heart. Not only does my best friend sit on the planning committee, but both of my parents have battled/are battling cancer. I’ve come to realize over the last few years just how important it is to eat healthy and exercise often to give your immune system the best possible chance of fighting off disease. You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can make sure you are in the best shape to fight.

This is one of the big reasons I am really trying to commit to a healthier lifestyle. Every meal is a chance to do something good for your body!

During the next few months I’ll be working slightly longer days in order to get some Friday’s off each month. This means I have to get up even earlier to get my morning workouts in. That means lots of coffee =). I’ve been enjoying iced coffee with almond milk in the afternoons as a pick me up, and it’s been the perfect way to get me to the end of the day.

For meal prep this week, I made baked protein oatmeal. This is very similar to my original baked oatmeal but I used almond milk, a scoop of protein powder, and no added sugar. It has 239 cal, 44 carbs, 4 grams of fat, 12 grams of protein, and 7 grams of fiber. The perfect way to get your body what it needs after a morning workout! It also makes six servings, so it can make you through the whole week until meal prep again =).

Sunday, after flipping through the Self special issue I purchased, I did a full body toning video by the Tone It Up girls. It kicked my butt! I am still sore, which means it’s working =).

I’ve bought and prepped healthy snacks for the week to keep me going! Hummus and baby carrots are a great go to snack for the afternoon slump.

I’ve done my morning workout, packed my meals for the day, and I’m ready to start the week right! I’m heading to Vegas in June for a girls trip, so bikini season really is right around the corner!

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy week ahead!

Ashley
